Mother city skydiving
This skydiving tour gives you a unique view of every corner of Cape Town. Just 40 minutes out of Cape Town central is the city’s closest skydiving drop zone, which you will take off from.
Once you are suited up, the plane will take you to an altitude level of 2895 m. While you ascend, your view of the Cape gets better and better, keep a special lookout for the South Peninsula, with Cape Point in the distance.
Then comes the jump and an amazing moment of free falling, which goes surprisingly quickly, as it is approximately 30 seconds long.
Any nerves are 100% worth it because of the spectacular view you are rewarded with. When you are in the air, you will be able to see Table Mountain and Table Bay, across to Hout Bay and Langebaan Lagoon. While looking at Cape Town from every direction, you can see how beautiful it is from all angles.
If the thought of skydiving gives you jelly legs but stays firmly on your ‘to-do’ list, here are some tips. On your first trip, it is important to remember how fast it goes and enjoy every second.
- Don’t eat too much beforehand, but have light snacks on hand while you wait
- Trust your tandem master (the person making sure you land safely)
- Don’t try and fight the wind
- Keep your eyes open, you’ve gone to a lot of trouble for the view
While the experience will (very likely) take your breath away, it’s important to keep breathing (it might not feel obvious in the moment). Accept your nervous energy and expect to be amazed, as skydiving over Cape Town is such a unique experience.
Looking at Cape Town from the harness of a parachute is unbelievable. The chance to see in one glance – the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, lush Winelands and stunning mountains is not to be missed.
- Close to central Cape Town
- Stunning views
- Memorable experience
- Highly-trained staff
- Can be nerve-wracking
